As part of UN's efforts to ensure that the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development moves from the pages of UN documents into the lives of women, the UN High Level Panel on Women's Economic Empowerment (UNHLP on WEE) partnered with Oxfam in Asia and UN Women Asia Pacific in organising the Asia Regional Stakeholder Engagement Meeting on WEE, held last 19-20 December in Bangkok. The two-day event brought together seventy (70) representatives from CSOs, women rights groups, female workers' movements, INGOs, and regional actors. Brainstorming sessions were conducted to set out how the agenda for WEE can be best implemented in Asia. Discussions revolved around needed actions to tackle the current barriers for women such as unpaid care work, informal sector, digital inclusion and social norms.
