GEM/EDP Workshop - Day 2: Rapid Care Analysis

Oxfam Senior Gender Adviser Thalia Kidder outlines the importance of detailed analysis of care work as part of a gender equitable market-based livelihoods approach. The bulk of care work is invisible, unpaid and falls primarily to women and often creates significant barriers to market. A programme that aims to effectively promote women's economic leadership must be aware of barriers such as time poverty, limited mobility and "husband's restrictions."
