Event Description

The goal of this workshop was to advance the current framework that integrates gender and unpaid work into macroeconomic analysis and enables the development of gender-aware and equitable economic policies.

Anam Parvez, Jane Remme, Sandrine A. Koissy-Kpein and Lucia Rost from Oxfam GB presented a paper entitled 'Calling for Gender-Equitable Fiscal Policies for a Human Economy: Evidence from Uganda and Zimbabwe'. They concluded that a gender sensitive approach to fiscal policy design and analysis, considering the different direct and indirect impacts of public spending on unpaid as well as paid work, and thus on men and women’s work, is vital.
